Acute Upper Limb Clinic

There are certain upper limb injuries that will require more urgent attention than others. These injuries may occur while playing sport, at work or even as an accident performing daily activities. Early identification and management of these will help minimise further damage and optimise recovery.

The Acute Upper Limb Clinic aims to provide prompt assessment of the injures with priority booking times, early patient specific imaging and access to our trusted group of allied health professionals.

Injuries that would be classified as urgent:

  • Shoulder or elbow dislocations (post reduction)

  • AC joint injuries

  • Pectoralis major rupture

  • Distal biceps rupture

  • Radial head fractures

  • Adult clavicle or scapula fractures

  • Adult humerus fractures (proximal, middle or distal)

  • Adult distal radius fractures

  • Paediatric fractures of the upper limb (clavicle, humerus, forearm or distal radius)

If you are not sure about whether your injury is ‘acute/urgent’, please contact our rooms (02) 9157 3111 for further advise and booking.
